Beginning in 1970 with the invention of the original ELYSATOR® sacrificial-anode corrosion protection unit, the technology was officially recognized as “state of the art” by 1988. Following the establishment of its German subsidiary in 1991 and continuous R&D expansion under Manuel Rickenbach (1993) and Rolf Frei (2017), the company solidified its position as an international market leader.

Relocating to its modern production and office building in Bilten in 2013, producing the 50,000th ELYSATOR unit in 2024, and expanding its Bilten headquarters in 2025–2026 to unite all Swiss and German expertise under one roof, ELYSATOR Engineering AG offers trouble-free operation for many years with its high-quality products.

The primary causes of corrosion in closed heating and cooling circuits are oxygen ingress, dissolved salts, and sludge formation. Without relying on chemical inhibitors, ELYSATOR units use an electrochemical sacrificial magnesium anode principle to bind free oxygen, naturally stabilize pH levels, degas micro-bubbles, and capture magnetic and non-magnetic debris.

From the patented compact SorbOx® (2013) and next-generation ELYSATOR Trio (2021) to the high-capacity H2O GUARD® 60v and industrial models, ELYSATOR safeguards everything from single-family homes to large commercial complexes and district heating networks.

With the registration of the PUROTAP® brand in 2004 and the spin-off of Aquitest AG in 2010 — the largest specialized water laboratory for the heating industry — ELYSATOR revolutionized the preparation of demineralized filling water in full compliance with VDI 2035 and SWKI BT 102-01 guidelines.
