PUROTAP i-control provides in-line corrosion and conductivity monitoring in hydronic heating or cooling systems. Unmonitored corrosion destroys the valuable components of a hydronic heating or cooling system; the high electrical conductivity of the circulating water is both a cause and a consequence of corrosion. By monitoring the conductivity of the circulating water, the i-control helps to detect corrosion early. The brochure states that fully desalinated water contains nothing that could damage boilers and heat exchangers, and that according to many manufacturer specifications the filling water for heating systems should normally be desalinated.
